New Contextual Datasets Available

These new contextual datasets are indicators that power the Smart Data Foundry Economic Wellbeing Explorer. The addition of these four contextual datasets brings our catalogue to 17 research-ready, curated datasets to address complex issues such as the root causes of poverty and inequality.

Contextual Data - Indices of Multiple Deprivation

This is a contextual dataset containing indicators of geographic access to essential local services for ITL areas in Great Britain. Variables include public and private transport travel times to the nearest general practice, private transport travel times and road distances to the nearest primary school, and road distances to the nearest general practice. This data is used to contextualise the consumer finance data that appears on Smart Data Foundry's Economic Wellbeing Explorer.

Contextual Data - Demographic

This is a collective demographic contextual dataset that contains information on young mothers, families with dependent children, disabled/long-term health and youth population percentages for ITL areas in Great Britain. This data is used to contextualise the consumer finance data that appears on Smart Data Foundry's Economic Wellbeing Explorer.

Contextual Data - Education

This is an education contextual dataset containing information on school & qualification attainment percentages for ITL areas in Great Britain. This data is used to contextualise the consumer finance data that appears on Smart Data Foundry's Economic Wellbeing Explorer.

Contextual Data - Housing

This is a housing contextual dataset containing information on average house size, low energy performance & average house price for homes in ITL areas in Great Britain. This data is used to contextualise the consumer finance data that appears on Smart Data Foundry's Economic Wellbeing Explorer.

Anyone can register to use myFoundry, though access to dashboards and curated datasets is by request. Micro-level data is restricted to researchers with an approved research proposal and is provided via our Trusted Research Environment (TRE).
