Findings in the Sage Small Business Tracker Q3 2024
Each quarter, Smart Data Foundry, Sage and the Centre for Economics and Business Research (Cebr) collaborate to produce the UK Small Business Tracker.
The Tracker provides a real-time view of how small businesses in the UK are faring in the current economic climate, analysing anonymised Sage Accounting and Payroll data from over 130,000 UK SMBs with an annual revenue of £0 - £200,000. The data is drawn from businesses across the UK.
Why track SMB performance?
Small and medium businesses are the foundation of the UK’s business landscape. Making up 99% of UK businesses, they contribute significantly to economic growth and job creation.
This also means that SMBs are are a bellweather of the UK's economic performance. Their agility and responsiveness allow them to act as early signals of changes to the economic environment, making understanding their performance essential for grasping wider emerging economic trends.
